Drift wood from petco. Is it safe!? URGENT

So I need driftwood for my pleco.. Is the pre sunken stuff in the big box tanks safe? I'm already worried about dragging snail eggs home, but they have some in their snailfree pleco tank I was thinking about grabbing. Should it be safe to go straight into my tank? Or do I need to rinse it or something??

I answered in your other thread. But again I bought two preplanted ones from the fish tanks at Pet supermarket, Brought them home and checked for snails or eggs, there were none, put them in the tank with no problems. that was a couple of years ago I think. Alison

Yeah I saw! I mentioned I might make ot a thread.. Felt like I imposed on that person's thread.. Luckily its information they could benefit from too! Ill be going to the big box store later to grab some! They have a tank of "unwanted" plecos who just keep growing because they never got sold and there are a few smaller chunks in there. Ill just need one as I only have the one BN. I know you have helped me in the past. My knowledge is based on common pleco care... How fast do BN grow or reach mature size? Mines a baby at the moment.

And a very cute baby. They start getting their bristles at 21/2 inches to 3inches if they are a male. females may or may not have any. They grow pretty quickly in the first year but then the growth slows down but continues very slowly. The females grow about an inch shorter than the males. Just remember they eat a lot and need some protein food as well to grow well. What a pleco eats they poop out in 45 minutes as they are grazers by nature, with a rather direct digestive system. Are you sure he is a bristle nose because the pattern looks similar to a clown pleco, but in any case the food is the same. Alison

He came in with a batch of bristlenose at my lfs. The bigger ones were sold off. He has the spots on his head. We will find out for sure in a month or so, I guess. Others on here have said it looks like a common BN. He has the white tip fin like the adult BN they had in. Idk at that size its hard to tell..
