I'm just gonna jump into it last week I bought 3 pieces of dragon stone to go in my sa/ca cichlid tank. I did a lot of work between my 4 aquariums Wednesday to Saturday so I decided to skip my weekly water changes since I probably built up a lot of stress. Well Sunday night my Oscar was pretty beat up and during at the bottom on the sand almost pale. First thing I thought was a parasite since I gave him the extremely rare joy of chasing a feeder fish that had been quarantined for a month. I mixed a few blood worms in meds and he barely ate any of them. So I dosed the tank with stress coat and checked water parameters everything was good. Moving forward I been to suspect one of his tank mates (2 Jack Dempseys, 1 blood parrot, 1 red devil, and one convict). I know that's one heck of a explosive combination but they all grew up together and have no issues unless the convict got in one of those moods. So with the most likely offenders I began to separate them removing one potential threat at a time to narrow it down. I got nothing he kept getting injuries and I never saw any aggressive from the other fish as they seemed to ignore the Oscars presence. Well today i decided something had to happen so I was forced to place him in a 5 gallon tank and medicate him I would been happier moving him from his 120 gallon home to my 30 gallon but it's occurred by a breeding pair of convicts with fry. And my 60 gallon of filled with fish that if he decided to feel better it would be a blood bath. So my question is does anyone think it possible that he's bearing himself up on the dragon stone? I mean I like the look of it but if that's the case I'd trash it before I let the guy seriously injure himself on it. Advice needed so he can go home.
