Dragon scale Betta fish changing colors

fishlover5333

I’ve had my betta for about five months now and when I first got him he was this white/red color and now he’s more of a purple/red and I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I just recently upgraded his home from an 3.5 gallon to a 10 gallon so I’m sure he’s in a healthier environment now but I’m wondering if this color change is a healthy change or is this not normal? The darker pic with the blue plant is when I first got him and the one with the pineapple building is him now.
This is a better pic where you can see more of the purple

Color change is both normal and expected in bettas. Some bettas only get more vibrant as they get healthier, and others actually change color. Many bettas also have a jumped gene that will randomly turn scales different colors. My better is solid dark blue with pink undertones in his fins and randomly has about 5 light blue scales on his body. I bought him because he looked purplish in the store. He has never shown signs of being purplish again... coloring can be strange. As long as he's healthy, behaving normally, and eating, then he should be all good.
