Dr. Tims One And Only

HI everyone, I put in Dr. Tims one and only nitrifying bacteria into my 43 gallon. As well Dr. Tims Ammonia chloride. Added 1 drop per gallon (43 drops). I just did my test after 24 hours.

says 1 drop per gallon should be 2ppm.

My ammonia test came back as 0.5ppm after 24 hours
Nirites at 0ppm
Nitrates at 0ppm
PH at 7.2

Are the nitrates meant to be at 0ppm ? the tank is unplanted.

It can take a few days for nitrites to show up.

Also, if your bottled beneficial bacteria are already converting it to nitrates, it probably won't show up on the test until the nitrates build up to 5ppm (0.5ppm ammonia converts to about 2.2ppm nitrates).

I believe I used two drops per gallon (can't remember exactly sorry, been awhile since I've used the ammonium)

Overall I love the Dr. Tims line, I feel the one and only bacteria works way better then stability.... I use some every time I start a new tank!

Just read though it, It says read the label. On my bottle it says 1 drop per gallon cheers for that. Also it says that if ammonia and nitrites are below 1ppm to add more ammonia which I just did.

 

Sounds good, their instructions are pretty good....
It can take a week plus for nitrites to start to show, it will be slightly sooner with the addition of one and only, cycling without bacteria it usually takes 5-8weeks, with bacteria 3.5-6.
