DP tank

Hey guys. I couple months ago I planned out a 5 gal aquarium that would have 1 DP.I got the tank, cycled it, and have kept 2 gold barbs in it so I didn't lose the cycle. One question. Tomorrow I am going to the pet store to get a heater, and I am wondering if I need more deco for my tank? Right now I have 4 plants. A cool rock, bubble blowing, centerpiece thingy, 6 of those little fake minI grasses, and a small piece of driftwood that forms a cave. The plants are all towards the back. I was wondering if I need more plants. If I do, I was wondering if I could try a live one (or two). If I can try live plants, what are some easy to care for plants that DPs like. Also give me the basics for plant care. Respond quick, only have til tomorrow

It sounds good, but the more live plants the better. Java ferns, java moss, anubias, will all grow attached to driftwood or decorations. There are all kinds of crypts you can plant too. All these grow well in low light, and low ferts. They won't grow much, but they won't die either. Leave the light on 6 or 7 hours a day for them.

Okay so I just turn on the light for 6 hours and buy some liquid fertilizer to use?
Also is there any chance I could do micro swords? I like those a lot.

You know golds need tanks of around 29gals right? and nice big schools. I think java ferns would work with propper pruning and possibly even some apontogen.

Sounds like a lot for a 5 gallon already probably more like a 3 gallon with all the extras in it.Why not get a bigger tank? As it sounds like you have a big tank idea crammed in a small space.

Only have room for this tank size. Can I replace my minI fake grass things with the micro swords? Is there any Anubis that can be planted in soil?

No. I have the gold barbs in there temporarily to keep the tank's bacteria. (fish waste) when I am ready for the puffer I will move them out.
