I have just watched a video online explaining dropsy (just watched it out of interest) and it seams like my fish might have it his scales look like a pinecone and he is very bloated I thought it was just of over feeding. What should I do if he dose have it I know there is treatment but the fish will never be 100 percent again.

Can you post a picture of the fish from side and top views? Dropsy is a killer. Even if you do manage to cure it, it always seems to come back within a few weeks and finish the job. I've had to euthanize most my fish that came down with dropsy.

The only treatment that has saved exactly 1 of my fish was Kanaplex along with a bit of epsom salt and Methylene blue in water. My female African cichlid is right as rain again going on 2-3 months, now she's holding a mouth full of fry again.

What should I do?

How does he behave, still eating and swimming as per usual? I’d start with a 50% water change and epsom salt baths.

Acting normal means it might not be a bad case.

For a bath mix about 1tsp for a quart or two of water, then put the guppy in for about 10mins, do it once a day for a few days and look for improvement. If you have an antibiotic on hand then move him to something like a 5gal bucket and treat him there.

If you can’t move him or have no meds, try adding 1tsp per 5gals for the main tank. I’ve had no problems adding epsom to main tanks so it’s safe.

The tank option isn’t a option cause I have about 7 snails in my tank so that won’t work so I just put 1 tsp of epsom salt in a 5 gallon bucket for 10 minutes?

For a bath, 1tsp for .25gals.
