Don't be scared of live plants!

Here is photographic proof that live plants(low maintenance plants as listed below) can thrive with absolutely no supplements. I also managed to get an Amazon Sword to take root in sand with no supplements. They make a tank look fantastic and improve water quality.

In my tank are Java Ferns, Anubias nana, Anubias barteri, Brazilian pennywort, and an Amazon Sword. I tinkered with Hornwort and Java Moss and both grew well but I elected to remove them. Too messy for my taste. All plants minus the pennywort secured with super glue.

It looks beautiful. But remember everyone's tap water does not contain the same nutrients that your tap water does. But if it works for you that's awesome. For everyone who hasn't tried no dosing, try it you don't know if it works from you unless you try

How in the world did you get the penny wort to be one strand like that?

I am on softened well water. Java Fern and Anubias since January, Sword and pennywort since February. Took a lot of patience and time for them to grow in. Most of the Java fern is reproduction from the original plants which have since died off. I do a lot of trimming on the pennywort to keep it in a single strand. I enjoy it as a foreground plant and keep it minimal. I did a pretty big cutback during the revamp of my tank.

Well in case I didn't get my point across before, I really like what you've done there. It looks really cool.
