I have a 1-1/2-year-old male cocker spaniel who has had 6 bacteria infections so far. The current one is happening today. He gets awful diarrhea and vomiting and stomach cramping, etc. My vet treats him with antibiotics which helps the bacteria at hand but also kills off all his good bacteria, leaving him rather vulnerable. My vet suggested using a probiotic. Has anyone ever used this for their dog? If so, is there a specific brand? Many probiotics are sold at the pet store, online, health food stores. Not sure which one is best. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you!

Never mind. I found some explanation about what probiotics are:

I suppose vets give them to dogs as well?
