So, I happened to see one of Cory videos where he visited his “favorite fish store.” Anyhow, in this store they had water bottles I’m the tanks that they filled with CO2 instead of using a diffuser. My question is: do you guys think this will work? Do I need to be converned about my fish? I have a pretty heavily planted tank with
Hornwort
Anubias
Wisteria
Java Fern
I also have
1 Freshwater angel
A gourami
Cardinal tetras
Octanius catfish
BN pleco
Snail
Bladder Snails.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Yeah, it works. Over time, the CO2 bubble slowly dissolves into the water. It may be a bit slower than a diffuser, but it's probably much more efficient, since none of the CO2 bubbles are popping at the surface. It's exposed to the water longer.

Here's a good link to monitor how much CO2 is in the water without any equipment:

How does the CO2 get from inside the bottle to the water?

(I think) the cap of the bottle is submerged in water and full of co2. So, the co2 and water meet there.

Isn’t the cap sealing? I’m just having trouble picturing it lol

I think it was just a bottle upside down, and there was a little floating piece of something so that as the water level dropped the manager could see when it needed to be refilled. I think he said it lasts 3-4 days

I believe is like a CO2 bell diffuser method. Slow and unsightly.

Ohhh so there is no cap. I see now, thanks guys. It should work as long as the CO2 in the bottle is higher than equilibrium.
