I have a swordtail that has some new white spots on his tail fin and I'm worried it may be Ich. From what I've seen of Ich, the spots are too big though. I have three male platies and one albino Bristlenose who all seem to be Ich free, if that's what this is. I've had him for at least 6 months and my tank has been cycled for at least 4 months, maybe longer.
I'm currently in the process of raising the temp in my 20 gallon tank from 76F to the recommended range, but like I said, I am not too sure my swordtail even has Ich. The spots are also in the exact same place on the other side of that fin, which makes me think that he just may be acquiring new beauty marks or something like that. But then again, they look as they may be a bit fuzzy, but I am honestly not sure if I saw that correctly. I will try to get a picture of him up ASAP; had to trap him in a net against the tank glass to get a better look at his fin so now he's upset and I'd rather wait until he's less stressed out to stress him out again for a picture
