Does my German Blue ram have ich?

Hey guys, so a few days ago I’ve noticed that one of my fish has a white spot towards the back of its dorsal fin and i wanted to know if it was definitely ich or maybe just odd coloring? His behavior is normal although he/she has gotten a bit more territorial than my other blue rams. For now i am going to raise the temp to about 85-86F just in case. Thanks in advance!

not a disease pro but doesn't look like ick. Could be a fungus. What is the normal temp u keep your tank at? i hear they like it in the low to mid 80's. Whats your WC routine and the tank size and current ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and PH?

It’s hard to say for sure from the picture. It looks like it does have some white speckling one it’s coloration.

Does it looked raised at all?

Hi AllHallowsEve31,
Its difficult to see what you are looking at in the way of spots in that photo.
i don’t see any odd colouring ?
Perhaps a couple of snapshots will put your mind at rest. The rams enjoy 86 f / 30c as a long term temperature, I don’t know what other species you have in the tank.?

Not ich. Looks like a healthy ram.

It's not itch, hard to see from the photo, but either physical damage or fungus or both.

She's a girl by the way.

What temperature do you normally keep them at?

Thank you all for responding so quickly! I took some clearer pictures to show the “discoloration” but it could very well be it’s natural colors. Also I normally run the tank at 82F, it’s a 29 gallon with some rummynose tetras, a honey gourami, guppies, and mystery snails.

I would push the temperature up to 84f as your Rams like it warm, then just keep an eye on it. If it doesn't get any worse don't worry.

Definitely some sort of growth at the rear of its dorsal fin. Hard to say what, if it's furry it might be fungus. Certainly not Ich.

My Bolivian Ram had something similar on his tail once. I know they're not the most effective or popular medications but Melafix and Pimafix cleared it up in a few days.

No. Fish is completely healthy.

Not sure exactly what you mean by “completely healthy”? You don’t see a “growth” or “spot” of some sort on the dorsal fin?

For whatever it’s worth, my GBR was ”healthy” (looked normal, ate and acted normal) except for the white cauliflower like growths (also on its fins).
