I have my Jetta fish he’s a mermaid betta I got him from Petco maybe in august so he was doing perfect I had did the nitrogen cycle put him into his 5gallom tank he was doing fine so I put two shrimp in with him and I noticed his tail started deteriorating after that so I thought maybe he was seeing himself in a reflection stressed him out and he was biting his own tail or the filter was sucking it up…nope if was the stupid shrimp but before I found that out I got a gallon bowl and treated the water but a heater and bubbler in it to quarantine him with Maracyn two and his tail is growing back I can see! So today was the 6th day so I did a 25% water change and fed him now his stomach is big…and I don’t think it could be dropsy because the medication was for dropsy, Fin rot and something else??? So im
Confused did I feed him too much too soon after not eating for almost two weeks cause I did have him on another treatment aswell… I’m worried about him:( I want him to be and get better I also noticed him trying to eat the floating partials during the water change in the bowl…
Also when I did feed him the food was bloodworms freezes blood worms not what he usually eats which are dried bloodworms…
He also is not pineconing…I just fed him and he got big like an iron belly and he swimming like normal I feel like if I put food again he’ll eat it he’s not slowing down idk if I have to just do a full water change now I’m so worried for him.

Pictures would help extremely in this case. Otherwise a total guessing game.

I don't really see what i was looking for, pineconed scales, so may be OK on the dropsy thing. I would suggest not feedi g for the next 3 days or so. The bloat should go down quite a bit.

Thank you his stomach went all the way down and he has two big circle poops:) so I’m guessing he’s okay I still haven’t fed him cause I’m scared of it happening again:///
