Does Filter Media Need To Be Kept Underwater At All Times, Or Just Wet?

Probably a silly question. Once my tank has finished cycling I am planning a big water change. I have an internal filter that sits quite high up in the tank as per the instructions. I will switch it off before draining the water but the water level will come down to below the bottom of the filter, before I refill. So there might be 10-15 minutes or so when the media (sponge) is out of water. But still damp and enclosed in the filter.

Is this ok? Or will the cycle coming crashing down?

    Thanks in advance!

    It should be fine.

It will be fine. It just needs to stay wet. It won't dry out in 15-20 minutes.

You should be fine. Make sure it doesn't dry out, if it does, then you lost all the BB.
