Does Cholla Wood Rot Away In A Aquarium?

I am planning on a new aquascape and I can't find the peice of driftwood I need, which is a literal branch, I need a long, sturdy branch that is around 13-15 inches but I can't find it so I found cholla wood and researched it. But I also found that it will slowly rot away in the aquarium. Is it true?

All driftwood will eventually rot just some at a higher rate than others. I have 5 small pieces of cholla wood throughout a few of my tanks and they still look decent their all about 6-8 months old. If that's the piece you like for your tank then I would go for it.

I know, but does it rot fast? It said that it will rot away in 11-14 mo.

I've only had mine 6-8 months and they still look good so can't comment on how fast they rot.
