I got a betta fish about a week and a half ago. He's very skittish around me, even when I sneeze he swims away and hides. He doesn't eat until I'm completely out of the room hes in, and all in all, he basically hates me. But I try my best to respect his boundaries so I don't scare him even more. I've been showing him videos of other betta fish on youtube. 20 to 40 min videos of bettas swimming peacefully, and he actually watches them! I put my screen up against his tank and let the videos play for him for a couple of hours. Its the most active ive ever seen him! He doesn't get angry and flare up, he just peacefully observes and even follows them around. Like they'll swim to one side of the screen and he'll swim and follow. I came back from work the other day and saw he had built a bubble nest, lol. I figured it was safe to assume he watched too much youtube and fell in love with another fish, so he made a nest. I mean could it be true? He's obviously paying attention to the screen. Its just weird how captivated he gets when I put the screen up to his tank. Its the only way I get him to come out of the corner he stays in when he's hiding from me. Does anyone else see their bettas reacting the same way to videos?
