does anyone know about eheim gravel vac

Title says it all any info from anyone who has used it I was thinking do this once a week then a water change once evey 2 weeks or month.

What do you think.

I have one that I use for spot gravel cleaning. For my weekly water changes my siphon pump gets out a lot more of the stuff that accumulates with a tank of bottom feeders.

Mine is about 5 years old so the motor has seen better days. In the beginning it had a lot more sunction. It did keep my tank aerated for the first 24 hours of Hurricane Irene until I got power back.

Good morning,

I would like to recommend that your water changes be done weekly. You can vacuum the tank the same time as your water change if necessary. If you are not over feeding your fish and you are not overstocked, then you should not have to vacuum quiet as often, but keep up with the water changes.

Nothing beats freshwater for your fish!

Imo, a plain gravel vacuum, (no batteries) is all you really need. They also come in various sizes to fit your tanks needs:

These are much cheaper than the one you have linked to in post #1.

I agree with ken gravel vacs remove waste and freshwater minerals for you fish. If you want you can gravel vac with a siphon about 20 percent of the water and than use that to go behind and do some extra cleaning

Well I do do a maby 25 30 % water change weekly and vac at the same time I was just wonder if this would cut down on that but if changes are the best ill stick with what I do now
