Does anyone else like frozen peas as fish food as much as I do?

I've been feeding my angels, pleco, and shrimp frozen peas lately and it's been working out great. I have them in the freezer anyway because I like to eat them. I get a big bag for a buck and the only preparation I have to do is let it thaw. I can feed exactly as much food as I need to and avoid making a mess.

 

Sounds great, but what do you give them for protein?

I have become so disgusted with the store bought foods. I make home-made fish food. Here are some easy recipes I use, and what I do is pour the mix into ice cube trays so that I can take one cube and feed them half a cube twice a day. My fish love it, and I love knowing that they are getting healthy food.

 

My fish get fed peas once or twice a week to prevent constipation and they love them.

I happen to think they are pretty tasty myself. It's the only vegetable I actually enjoy eating.

 

I never give them peas

My fish are never constipated, but I attribute that to feeding them nothing but NLS thera-A.

 

besides the roughage peas are an empty food.

 

I have to agree, peas are not a nutritional food in the least, they provide a ansewr to constipation but after that its pointless, what's the staple?

 

I feed them to my fish sometimes, just because I'm sure the sugars in there are good for something, and, well, it's nice to mix it up sometimes. plus, it gives me an excuse to eat them. I love them frozen, just as a treat, to snack on. best munchy food in hot weather. I figure, it's not bad for them, and they love it, so what's the harm? i've never noticed my fish being constipated, or not constipated; I guess I just don't watch them poo but when i'm munching them, I don't mind thawing a few for my fishy friends.
