Does a fish...

Ok I'm just wondering if a fish goes through growth stages? I have had one tiger barb for a little over a year now and all the other tiger barbs I've had for a couple months but now the older barb is starting to change. He is a green tiger barb so his colours have darkened exept for the area around his head it has gotten to look like crome. He seams to have a larger head and gills, musculare top and sides (top of body is thinner giving him a cool "bilt" look). The barb also seems to have taken the leadership roll in the school aswell. Just wondering!

good question.. as far as I know, they grow until a certain age depending on species, then stop. but i'd see what Dino thinks, he'd know the most about that I think.

I know they look different when they fill with eggs but otherwise given optimal conditions, as far as I know they grow to a certain size and stop. Our favorite alien will know for sure

I think a lot of male barbs will get more intense colors when they are in breeding condition...don't know if that helps at all.
