Please help!!!

I have a female molly, which we bought 2 months ago, she was a lot bigger than my original mollies when we bought her but have recently noticed that she seems a lot smaller now and seems to be hunching over in a banana shape, its effecting her swimming etc.

Does anybody no wot disease this is, and whether I should quarantine this fish as it could spread to my other fishies?

Cheers

Sounds like you have a vitamin deficiency problem where your Molly's concerned.. as long as she doesn't have any blemishes, white or any other colored spots, or a shredded tail then you're safe for the most part.

When fish get bent out of shape like that, it's usually because they're not getting sufficient nutrients on a daily basis.. and because she's pretty much the newbie to your tank, she'll eat after the others, whatever they leave behind, which may not be enough to keep her 100% healthy.

I'd recommend you buy liquid vitamins to add to your tank until she establishes herself in the pecking-order.. and believe me every schooling species has a pecking-order which shuts out newbies initially.

Yeah she's eating fine at the top with all the other fish soon as the lid goes up, infact shes bigger than the others, which means that she's pushes them out of the way he he... She was pregnant had her babies, wasn't long after that she went bent... but how can fish just bent like this over night? its really worrying me her tail is fine she has no spots honestly looks like she has broken her back.. But I will most defo get the vit liquid for them all I think she is struggling looking at her now I don't think she will last the rest of the day :'( such a shame... Never known anything like this to happen before...
The shop where we brought her from we had one very small one which the guy who sold her to us thought she was a guppy and was an odd shape sadly she died and another which only had one eye, which died too it was the only the white ones that were odd shaped and ended up like this we got a black and white dotted male and the black ones are fine could have been the shop we brought them from? (never going back there anyway) and apart from the liquid is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? ??? just wanna cry poor little thing
