Do you use conditioner?

Do you use water conditioner? If you do, what kind do you use?

I don't. I have well water without ammonia (tastes a heck of a lot better than city water too). I haven't used it for three or four months, and the fish seem fine. I do have some, for when I use bleach to clean things, it's a cheap aqueon kind.

I am thinking I want some ammonia locking stuff and stress coat soon, what kind of conditioner would you recommend?

I have a well also and don't modify my tanks in any way. I only use stress coat when I get new fish or someone is hurt. or medication if someone is sick. that rarely occurs though.

my ph is 7.6-8 and my cichlids are happy and breed.

 

I use water conditioners, I have also heard that with well water it is still a good idea to use a good water conditioner due to all the metals in the water.

 

I use Safe, it's awesome! A teaspoon treats 200 gallons.

 

I use Prime, StressCoat (Aqueon Water Conditioner), Tetra Aquasafe or Amquel+

I like Prime and Amquel+ the most for the situations if I have bit of ammonia in the aquarium, they usually help with the water change (Both detoxify ammonia and nitrite in the aquaria for a total of 24 hours).

Tetra Aquasafe or Jungle Start Right. The Jungle product also hAs some aloe in it that will help fish recover from any abrasions.

 

Yes I use water conditioner. I use Prime or Stress Coat. I'm to the point that I'm almost finished using the Stress Coat up and then I'll just be using Prime only.

Me too. Prime for waterchanges, Stresscoat for injuries and finrot.
