do root tabs work ok in sand? and if so, should the root tabs be right next to the plants that you want nourished or can they be a few inches away.

The instructions usually state to place a tab every 6 inches. However, I do not follow the directions because it caused a major fert OD and lead to algae. I also dose dry ferts in my high tech tank and that combination was far too much. So, now I add a tab per root feeder and make sure to always have at least 6 inches between tabs.
Root tabs work with any substrate.
Good morning,
I'm also using SeaChem Flourish Root Tabs in my 33g long tank. 1 box of 10 Tabs does the tank every 3 months. The tank is 48" long and 12" wide.
Do you folks also dose every 3 months as the directions state? More often? Less often?
I'm also using liquid Flora Pride every 10 days. I do 50% water changes in this tank every 5 days.
Ken
I have the Flourish Root Tabs, and then dose the tank maybe 1-2 times a month with Seachem Flourish. The dosing of the liquid isn't as frequent because I forget about it... not sure if I should start dosing more or not...
