Do reflections stress out female bettas?

My room stays pretty dI'm (not by choice) so anytime I have the light on for Ricktavious' tank, he flares up, goes crazy, etc.....so needless to say, that light stays off. What about for females? I've had the light on for the female betta, but don't know if it's stressing her or not. She seems to stay around the edges quite a bit, could this because she is going after reflections?

I've never noticed on mine at least, and both male and female are in (different) tanks in dI'm area. He flares loads.

does she flare any? if not, then she's probably just doing 'laps'.. not uncommon for the females.

yea, our females are like that .. angel loves to do laps around her column decoration and sweetie loves to swim back and forth in the front of her tank.
