Do powerheads come with a way to regulate output or do you just plug them in and its an automatic max output kind of thing?

Depends on what you buy. Some have a flow adjustment, some do not.

Thanks. My most recent endeavors are just a temporary quicky lol. Since all I intend to have in one of the tanks is live rock it doesn't much matter I guess. This should be a good test run on getting me started on water parameter testing, right? If I can get coraline algae to grow I should have the basics down to then go on to bigger things... like the cleaning crew aahahahahahaha

Remember you want around 20-40X gph worth of flow in your tank . Water movement is so important in a tank !

Well, the smallest AND cheapest I could find was an azoo 180 which pumps 48gph. I'm getting two, so that should be OK. However, Gozer is speaking Wise. I am trying to say I don't speak that language, but, I might have to reconsider my whole agenda. So, I've placed a limit for me now. If I can't get a third job within the next month or so, I'll go with his suggestion of a 55 gallon tank.

There would certainly be nothing wrong with that. You could have quite a nice Saltwater set-up in a 55.

Well, I'm PARTIALLY listening to Gozer for now and will not be doing my rock set up. Instead I'm going to listen to Tom and do a brackish set up on one of my 10's for bumblebee gobies. This way I won't be bored. This is why I'm listening to Gozer. I know how easily I get bored with things. That's actually the same reason why I never got a tattoo. I can just see myself using a peeler to get it off in a couple of weeks lol hahahahahaa jk.
