I don't know about gravel but mine DO burrow in the sand. Try looking up under your lid - they like getting out of the water from time to time. I have found mine climbing out a few times!

I looked under my lid they're not under the lid that's why I'm thinking they burrowed into my gravel.

I now know where one of my zebras is he's stuck to the back of the skull in my tank and the tiger is on my gravel now but I don't know where the second zebra is.

Yup I have smaller grained gravel in my betta's tank and one zebra nerite who constantly buries himself in it. I would just keep an eye out for the next few days. If the snail doesn't appear make sure to check your water parameters for any spikes, if a spike happens he may have died somewhere in your tank.

Also if you have a hob filter, check inside that. Mine have been found in mine several times before. Also check the OUTSIDE of the tank as they do like to climb out of the water and can live several days outside.,

I checked outside the tank but now I'll check the filter though I don't think he got into that he's too big and the intakes are small on the marineland penguin 200 power filter.
