Hey guys, I have a 20 gallon with 8 neons 5 corys and want to add some guppies.
The only problem is that I know hoy much guppies breed. I am not interested in keeping any of the fry or raising it.
Basically my question is:
Will the neons eat all the fry?
The tank doesn`t offer that much hiding place btw

They will eat some, but i dont imagine they would eat a cast majority IMO unless you starve them somewhat....

Absolutely. The neons and guppies ruthlessly hunted down each baby they could see, and were considerably larger afterwards. I managed to save 20 of 'em from 4 births. That was in a densely planted, relatively large tank, and the substrate was the same colour as the babies.

They will eat some but a good number will survive if given enough cover.

I’ve got to tell you, my guppies never learned the whole cannibalism thing. I was having to take fry and juvies fifty and sixty at a time to the LFS. No I don’t want to know what the used them for. Anyway, until I got my danio back, I was overwhelmed with guppies. From three adult females and one male!
But, to answer your question, if the neons can find them, yes they “should” eat them. None of my critters are normal.
