Do My Bristle Nose Pair Look Big Enough To Breed?

Ok so I have had my female bristle nose for about 9 months. She is really fat and is always wagging her tail near my male bristle nose which is about 5 months old. He has his own cave and he always hangs around my female.

But there's no eggs. Do they look big enough. My female is around 6-7 cm and the male is around 5-6cm.

Bristlenose Plecos reach sexual maturity at 3 inches I believe. Your male is a little bit under 3 inches so he ought be already able to sex. If you would like your BN Plecos to breed, put a cave in the tank because they will breed in there.
If you already have a cave in the tank, it won't be long when your BN Plecos start to breed.

I have a female BN that was born in my care. She grew up in a 55 gallon, so her growth rate was very good. She did not lay her first batch of eggs until she was 14 months old. She was "big enough" for a long time, but 14 months is when she finally laid eggs for the already sexually mature male.

That was my experience. Take it or leave it!

Yes she is ready to breed. I know because I had bought juvenile BN's from the store and they were less than 3 inches - I am guessing around 6 months old. They were in my QT tank and I had 1 male, 2 females. They were getting ready to go in my display tank ( the male barely had any bristles ) and they ( not sure if both females or one ) had 60 + babies in my 5 gallon tank! I would have never guessed because they were so small but it happened! So, with that in mind, just prepare I would have never believed it myself until it happened!
