Do I need an air pump/air stone to transport my fish?

Hi. I'll be transporting some fish (most likely) and just wanted to see if how I plan to do it will be okay. I'm moving a betta and 6 neon tetras. I was planning on putting the betta in a 1 liter container with holes poked in the top, and the neons were going to go in bags. They're rather large bags and I was going to split the school up into two bags, and then double bag them. They'll be sitting for about 2 1/2 hours, and I was going to keep them in a cooler. Is this plan okay? Do they NEED an air stone and air pump? If so, any suggestions to how I could otherwise transport them would be welcome, as I don't have a pump or stone, or air line tubing for that matter. I know I'm probably terrible for not owning them, but I just never needed them lol. Thanks in advance :)

If you put air in the bags the neons will probably be OK. Betta should be OK too, though wouldn't push the time more than necessary.

The move went well. I was selling my fish, and the person who bought them said he was impressed with how well I packed them up :D

2.5 hours is nothing. Definitely dont need any air stones if you leave some air in the bag. A tiny fish doesnt consume much oxygen. These guys ship in bags with dozens of fish for days on end, no problem. Dont worry about 2.5 hours.
