Do I Need a Heater?

Hi everyone,
Quick question. I have a 110 gallon stock tank pond with comets in it. It is supposed to be in the low 40s here in south Florida tonight. Do they need a heater for tonight? Or will they be ok?
Thanks!

Goldfish are a cold water fish and will do best at temperatures between 65 - 72° F (18°- 22° C). The Comet Goldfish are one of the most hardy varieties and can tolerate temperatures a few degrees above freezing, as long as the cooling drops only a few degrees a day.
---
Btw how deep is your pond? Just because the air temp is 40f the ground will probably keep the bottom a bit warmer. 110 gallon make it sounds like it is pretty shallow but rather than guess....

Thank you so much for your fast reply! I won’t worry about a heater tonight then. It’s only supposed to be this cold tonight, then warm back up some. So I think they will be ok.
I just have them in one of those big Rubbermaid tubs from the feed and tractor supply. I would say it’s a couple feet deep. I’m growing them out in there while I slowly work on my in ground pond.
Thanks again

I see so it is above ground. It would help a bit if it was actually in a pit. If you have a heater it wouldn't hurt to toss it in and run it with an extension cord (assuming you can keep the plug dry). My guess is they will be fine but it never hurts to improve the odd. I'd set the heater really low - like 62 or so.

Here’s a couple pics of my current set up.
