I am interested in getting a 10 gallon tank. I have been doing research on garra rufa fish and I read somewhere that I need a filter and aerator. Is this true? Thank you for all of your help.

I don't know exactly what you mean by aerator. Any decent filter will do more than a good enough job of airating the tank.

Also Garra Rufa are schooling fish and get to about 5-6". So you need WAY bigger than a 10 gallon tank.

What size of tank would you recommend?

A small tank should do just not tiny. Something around 30 gallons. Would give you room for a something like a bristlenose and a bit of variety too.
