Do I have to worry about room temperature for honey gourami?

I am planning on getting honey gourami, but I heard that if the room temperature is a lot cooler than the tank temperature it will damage there labyrinth organ. The room I plan on keeping them in is cold. Do I have to worry?

Aquarium heaters and a top on the tank should take care of any issues with that. Not to mention, keep them from jumping out.

My apartment gets pretty cold sometimes, and even with a heater, the water sits at 72 F (I have a lidless tank). My honeys do fine at that temperature, but I would not risk lower. I'm in the process of saving up for a better heater, because I really like to stay between 74 F and 78 F, and I recommend that's where you should aim to keep it, too.

Thank you! It's good to know that my future honey gourami will be healthy.

It's more to do with fry and the development of the labyrinth organ than adults.
But like mentioned a lid should alleviate any worries.

This is probably as low as you could safely go with Honeys, any lower and you'd likely be risking health issues. I seem to remember reading 20c(68f) was about the lowest Three Spots can handle and they are one of the most adaptable species out there.
