Do Hillstream Loaches Float When Dead?

Hi there we have 6 hillstream loaches in our pond. When we first put them in, 4 disappeared under the rocks, and 2 could be seen intermittently swimming round the pond for the best part of a week. We now have more plants in the pond, more places to hide and more algae, so I’m guessing they’re just having a good time on the bottom and don’t need to swim around looking for food. But it’s been a while since I’ve seen them so just wondering what happens if they die and if they float to the surface?

In my very fresh experience, no. One of my loaches died today and it was just laying on the bottom. I only realized it's dead because it didn't react when a snail crawled across it.

I lost one of my initial group right away. That one didn't float either.

I had mine both die when my heater stuck on and brought my tank into the mid-80's. They didn't float.
