Do guppy tanks need a lid?

I am looking to buy a NICREW light bar for my tank and want to know if my guppies will be ok without a lid?

Guppies can jump out of the water so some kind of Restraining device is needed. Instead of using a lid you could try a net or mesh attached to your tank.

Although I am sure their have been instances of jumping out, I have yet to have the issue. Most of my tanks have floating plants though.

I didn't keep the lid on during the summer, I didn't have any issues with any jumping out.
But if they want to they can.

To answer the question whether guppies are able to jump? For sure!
But I do have to admit that most tanks overhere don't have a lid or any other cover. And hardly a guppy will be found on the floor overhere. But not having a cover, won't be a 100% guarantee that a guppy won't jump out of the tank of course...

In my experience, guppies have only jumped when they have been in a stressful situation. Otherwise, I have not had an issue.
