Do Freshwater Shrimps Eat Young Snails Or Mosquito Larvae?

I'm growing trapdoor snails in my aquarium, but occasionally get mosquito larvae in there. I'd like to put something in it to prey on the mosquito larvae, but nothing, such as fish, that would also prey on the young snails (or eggs.) Would shrimp be a good idea?

No.

Very few fish eat snails. Some loaches, puffers, and bichirs eat snails but most fish do not.

Thanks for the replies. Scarface, are you saying the shrimp won't prey on mosquito larvae? I had trapdoor snails in with koi and goldfish, but I can't remember if they were the ones always biting at antennae and eyes of the snails. I really am interested in native northern cold hardy minnows that do well in unheated aquariums with a minimum temperature of 60 degrees or below, but since they're wild maybe this is a bad choice. Aquarium is in the basement. Just would need a couple of them. I really like the "Shiner" found at bait shops, but maybe they'd eat the shrimp. Any other recommendations? Thanks.

Also, at which temperature do something like cherry shrimp do best. I should probably heat the aquarium I'd guess.

Looked them up. Truly beautiful. Would they gobble up the Cherry Shrimp? Thanks.

Do you know a good source for getting some? I've tried about everything with no luck. Thanks

I don't know anything about that type of snail sorry, but generally snails and shrimp are fine together. Shrimp won't eat mosquito larvae I'm pretty sure, and neither will snails, some sort of small fish might though, maybe white clouds or something similar?

The only 'shrimp' I know that will go after snails are
Macrobrachium bullatum... an aussie native, so may not be available in the other parts of the world... and also does have a fondness for small fish as well.
