Do cardinal tetras eat at night?

Hello all, this is my post at Fishlore!

I have a 15-gallon tank with 8 cardinal tetras and a betta for a few months now. They get along really well and there have been no issues until lately.
My betta has a voracious appetite. He eats his share plus a lot of the tetra's food. He gets bloated and this is becoming more often. I would like to know if Cardinal tetras can eat at night (after the lights are off)? I am quite certain that my Betta sleeps like a log and wouldn't bother eating at night!
Thanks in advance!!

No they feed on sight / daylight.
But they are midwater feeders so if you make the food sink they'll get their share.

What are you feeding them? Usually the tetras should be the first and most ferocious feeders.

I made the experience, that flake food makes my cardinals bloat.

Exactly. That's why I only feed granulates and soaked freeze-dried besides frozen foods.
