10 Gallon Tank Do blind cave Tetra fish need a heater?

Frank the Fish guy

I started a species tank of blind cave fish. Currently running no heater. I figure cave fish no heat right? They can live in cave temperatures.

What do you guys think?

We set the thermostat for the house at 68 but it will probably dip below that on a few cold days. And the water always seem to read a bit lower than the air (evaporation cooling).

Over the years I have had some heater failures that have actually cooked my fish. So I prefer not to use a heater if not needed.

I think you're probably fine.

Watch out, these fish can be surprisingly aggressive to each other and tankmates. I hope yours are better.

This is not acknowledged in many articles.

I have only seen that when feeding, they root around and may nibble each other. Not so much aggression, just like, you got in my way while I as foraging for snacks!
