I have a quick question about my betta tank. Right now I have a few plants and a decoration. the decoration takes up a lot of room. should I take out the decoration and add more plants so there is more swimming room for him. Do betta enjoy more plants or more space to swim.

My Betta likes his ornaments in his tank, he likes to lay on rocks, plant leaves and in his tree log. They like to have room to swim also, maybe look for smaller ornaments that take up less room in your tank.

A little bit of both. I keep mine in a planted 10 gallon with Cabomba and Java Fern. My Betta loves lounging in the floating Cabomba: he reminds me of a cat.

Can you provide a picture? Bettas love places to hide and play in, but they also love space to swim! Then again, this depends on the betta. Some are more active, some are less.

The floating log may not be necessary. that will open some space, you can also remove the rocks and add in a few small silk plants. I don't think rock decor is a good idea in general unless you have a larger tank, so you could really open up the space if you remove that.

also, maybe look into getting a few live or silk plants to replace the plastic ones, since plastic plants can damage his fins,
