We cannot buy female guppies from the local shop for creating a pure quality breeding line because they can be mated with different types of male guppies. If we have a virgin female of one type of guppy and if we buy a good looking male of the same type (only by looking, don't know its parents ) from a local pet store and breed it with the virgin female we had, can we get a pure line with all the qualities of the male guppy we brought from the shop without the mix of any other type or strain of guppy?

If you're looking to breed a certain strain then it is better to buy a breeding group from a seller online. It is impossible to be certain of any local pet shop's guppy genetics and to get virgin females you would have to raise fry yourself and separate the genders before they breed.

You can use pet store males with virgin females, but you could get something completely different than what you were going for. Or you may get a few of the fish you had in mind while all the others are different.

Sometimes more specialized fish stores have pure strains, ordering online isn't always necessary. But unless they specify a specific strain, I'd assume they're not pure strains.
