Turkey basters are great but I often have problems with debris falling back in the tank.
This is my super cheap ultra minI vacuum and water changer.
It works great for small bare bottom fry tanks, breeder boxes or nets.
Materials used:
21" of Air line tubing.
Can be found at any pet store for under $3.00 for 8 feet.
Use more if needed. 21" was all I needed for a 2.5g.
1 Plastic squeezable mustard bottle.
Found at the dollar store for 50 cents.
You can use a ketchup bottle if you prefer red.

Instructions:
Cut the tip of the bottle off so the hole is slightly smaller than the diameter of the airline tubing.
Don't cut too much. You want a tight seal.
If you cut too much you can seal it with hot glue.
I used a hack saw. It's the only thing I had handy.

Cut the end of the Airline tube at an angle.
This will help work it through the tip of the bottle and give you an angle when you vacuum.

Force the Airline tube through the hole in the tip of the bottle.

That's it!

To use:
Squeeze the bottle to force the air out.
Put the tube in the tank.
Release the pressure on the bottle.
That creates the suction.
It helps to have the bottle lower than the tank.
Hope someone finds this useful.
