DIY Stands (180)

MJohnson

Hopefully this is the right place. As I'm redoing my 40 Breeder I am seriously contemplating a 180. The stand seems to be very pricey and a lot of them are inadequate. Can anyone lead me to the right direction? Found some builds, but need to know materials too. Debating on a canopy as well. Thank you!

For a 180, I would use 2x6s for all of it. It is overkill for the horizontal parts, but the vertical legs need it.
I have a 60g on a 2x3 stand I built, so a 2x6 stand with 6 legs (one on each corner, then 2 in the middle) should be good.
Biggest thing I can recommend is to measure EVERYTHING AT LEAST THREE TIMES!
And then make sure that it is very level before putting the tank on it.
