DIY Project for New 72g Tank- Need your opinion

HI all,
Well I'm getting closer to a new 72g Bow Front aquarium. The wife says if the day comes I have to use the so called rot-iron(that doesn't look right) stand that is being used for the 55 gallon tank I have now. So I drew this tank stand build with/with out canopy. The rot-iron stand and additional support legs etc... are hidden behind a black pleated skirt. The canopy is a simple design using 3/4" birch veneer plywood. The light fixture I'm going to use is a Hagen GLO with two 54 watt Life Glo ll bulbs.

Any how- I need your opinions on the design and how it would look finished and placed in room. I keep going back and forth on this. One day it looks good the next day is questionable. Please give me your thoughts.

I can't comment on the structural design as obviously we can't see that part. Visually it looks nice enough. The spelling you are after is wrought iron.

Just a thought, but I'm thinking when you do wtaer changes and such it may drip on the curtain, I kinda like the hardwood finished stands witha 2x4 or 2x6 frame, only takes a couple hours to build one,
what you have looks nice tho

How is the bowfront on the 72 gallon going to be supported by a wrought iron stand that is made for a 55 gallon? ???

You need to be sure the 72 gallon tank is fully supported around the perimeter. That tank when full will weigh almost 800 ponds, and without full perimeter support it will end up breaking.
