Hey guys!

My brother loves being in the shed and making things...

he been pestering me with 'do you want me to build you something?' constantly... and I can't think of a thing! So, usually I try and sidetrack him with fish talk ;D but it doesn't take him long to get back onto it...

So, while he is away on camp, I will devise a plan... a mini canister filter (like a tom rapids mini, I suppose)! It will feature strainers at both ends, an eheim pump and some diy filter media! My understanding of a canister filter (never owned one) is that the water is siphoned into the intake tube, through the media baskets and up through the out-take tube back into the tank. So, I thought that I could get a siphon going and have a pump on the out-take tube. I have watched many videos on this... but is it a good idea?

He is currently making a air-hockey table... and I help sand the wood But hey, he made me a skateboard ramp

Are there any people with advice?

There is nothing like a compromise!

Sounds very doable.
Check out the Eheim Asia Pacific website () They have some decent images that'll give you an idea on how they work
