HI guy's just was watching youtube and looking at the diy co2 generators and the recipies are all a little bit different. My question is there one recipie that is easy and has good results.

All have yeast and sugar, but some have baking soda some use brown sugar and some use cane sugar. Does it matter?

Any info would help thanks

I never use baking soda.
Just use plain white sugar.
Nice and simple

Well I use two cups white sugar and one teaspoon of yeast but I'm having problems getting it to constantly bubble.
Whats wrong?

Just white sugar & ordinary bakers yeast for me to. Forget the bi-carb. 2 cups of sugar with 1/2 tsp yeast per 2lt of water. That mix will have pretty good co2 production for 2-3 weeks before it needs replacing.

When you say that it is not constantly bubbling, do you mean that it stops co2 production altogether or it just slows down? Slowing down a couple of days after the mix is made is normal but if it is stopping altogether I would be thinking that the water you are making the mix with is too hot or the yeast is past it's used by date.

Well nutter I have been out of town for the week and prior to that I mixed up two cups sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and had no reaction. When I got home I made a new batch with two cups sugar and one teaspoon of yeast and no baking soda and this morning had reaction starting.

I heard that baking soda prolongs the reaction, that's bull. I must of had water to hot to mix the sugar and didn't let the water cool enough before added yeast, that all I can think of why.

I agree that the baking soda is a waste of time. I found that if anything it just shortens the life of the mixture. It does sound like you might have had the water too hot when you made up the first mixture.

I put the sugar in the bottle first with some luke warm water and shaking vigerously till it was all dissolved. in a cup I would mix some yeast with luke warm water.

I didnt wait for the yeast to start bubbling before adding to the sugar. once it was dissolved, I added to the sugar mix. then shake well.

waited about 10 minutes and it all set off.
to get the yeast going quicker, you could add a very small amount of sugar to the yeast. give it some fuel to start off with.
