Is there any kind of algae eater that can be in a tank with a betta?

Nerite snailes are probably your best bet

Do you order them from amazon or do most pet stores carry them? I have a 3 gallon, so one would be enough right?

I'm from the Netherlands so idk how it is in North Carolina but I think they're pretty common in pet stores and amazon should have them for sure

I got some cherry shrimp and enjoyed that

Cherry shrimp are small and brightly colored, inviting the betta for a meal. Amanos are larger and duller-colored so they are not as tempting to eat. But if you feel safer using nerite snails that's fine, there's less risk of stress for the shrimp.

I have a single Otto in 1 tank with hiding places, it was touch and go to begin with but all seems to be ok now, in my other smaller tank I have 3 nerite snails
