different PH readings

I'm new to the hobby and was wondering about these PH test kits. I'm have no idea what my PH is because I get a different readings depending on what test kit I use. I use the API Ph test kit with the 5 drops of solution in the test vial and I get a PH of 7.6 Then ill use the API test strips and it will show a 6.5 and I tried the one that Petsmart uses to test PH which is the Tetra PH test kit which uses the test strips also and that shows about the same which is a 6.8 PH. Anyone else ever have this problem ? Gee maybe ill just pick which PH I like the best and go with it lol. It seems that most people on here use the API Master Test kit with the drops of solution and the test vial. Is that really accurate though ?

Liquid test kits are much more accurate. I would trust the liquid one. Maybe even try testing with the High Range pH Test Kit. Your pH might have maxed out the regular pH test kit. 7.6 is the highest the regular goes.

I agree, test strips are inaccurate. Liquid is much more reliable.

I agree. My pH was 8.2, but with the "normal range" test it just looked like 7.6. You have to do both tests to make sure you didn't just max out the first one.
