Different colors of shrimp

I am looking at starting a Caridina shrimp tank and I have heard that you can keep different types of Bee shrimp together without the fear of them mixing and turning back to wild type. Is this true? I really want to have different colors in my tank but I do not want the babies to revert.

Caridina species will crossbreed with other caridina species (at least closer related ones, you aren't likely to ever see an amano shrimp crossed with a CRS), they do not revert to wild coloring like neocaridina species can, but they do not stay pure and some funky patterns can be thrown.
I honestly keep them one to one (one neo species to one caridinia species) to avoid crossbreeding that would result in less clean looking caridinas. And to insure I can see the differences between the two (so my orange neos are not housed with my tangerine tigers, because at a quick glance they look too similar).

 

When you look at caradina the most comon are the crystal reds and black bee,
Now to crystal reds have come from inter breeding black bee, so you don't want to mix these two as the colours are drab
What you can do is mix crystal reds with tangerine tiger or black bee and tangerine tiger and you open a new world of shrimp breeding, they will never go to wild brown as their wild state is the colour youve started with which Mcasella as pointed out
So get yourself 10 tangerine tiger and which ever other colour you like and watch a whole new world of colours start to form.
Because you won't be selective breeding things will be slow at first but be patient it will happen.

If you try to put Neocaradina in with them you will be faced with the difference of water parameters and theres a very fine line they must be kept at, remember caradina need ro water so its a case of getting the Neocaradina acclimatised in this fine line,
Its certainly not for the new shrimp keeper, I've done it but found over time things start to slow up so my advice would be to keep with black bee and tangerine tiger or crystal reds and tangerine tiger.

Thank you so much. You are a great help. As I said I’m just trying to find different colors of shrimp that will breed and not go back to wild colors. I’m looking at my options. There are so many different types of shrimp out there! I really like the look of the Babualti shrimp. I was wondering if you’ve seen this chart? Is it accurate?

Also are you from the United States? I saw in another forum that you were breeding to get Fishbone shrimp. I would love to create fish one shrimp specifically Galaxy fishbone but I don’t know how “easy” it is. My tank is just going to be a show tank (heavily planted) and not a breeding tank per day. I want my shrimp to breed so I can have a pretty good size colony going but it’s not going to be its sole purpose. Would it be easy to create a fishbone variety with what I’m going to be working with? Or does it take generation after generation of culling

 

I've seen that and many many more like it, don't get bogged down with to many charts find people like myself who have crossed certain shrimp with good results and go with those who have done it,
