Dieing Crawfish Please Help

So over my course of owning crawfish (year maybe), ive lost three or four crayfish. One was a blue not sure of species, and the others were marbled crawfish, self cloning crawfish. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. My concern is the marbled as I'm trying to create a stock of these for feeding purposes.

Theyre currently in a 55 just moved a few days ago from a split 40 gallon.
Water parameters are 0,0,5 gh and kh are 5. PH 7.4 7.6 temp 73 Fº
Have 5 left theyre about 8 months to a year old. From my research they should have reproduced multiple times already. Theyll berry but never produce. Theyre diet consist of Omega One shrimp, algae pellets. Krill, brine shrimp and blood worms. Also feed them cucumber, zucchini, and green beans. I'm at a complete loss here and research on these crawfish are slI'm as theyve only been in the hobby since early 90s.

I'm desperate for help. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. Anybody with experience, advice, or links would be nice. If its online ive probably read it.

I wonder if your KH and GH is too low. I would add some crushed coral to get them higher.

I agree with this, plus I'm wondering if you have Procambarus fallax (deceitful cray) or Procambarus fallax forma virginialis (marmorkrebs/self cloning). If its the first they need males to fertilize their eggs. Also 5 sounds like a lot for a 55 being how territorial they get.

From my research 5 is not I researched these for a long time and many pages. There are tons of hinding places for these and I plan on I creaseing foot print.
The tank has crushed coral in it already. Howcab I tell the difference between fallax or fallax forma virginalis.

It wouldn't hurt to increase your GH and KH just in case, right?

Are you sure they're not killing each other?

Absolutely 100 percent. They may tiff or sizemone another up if one walks by a hide but never claw to claw battles. They don't really even show interest each other. They stay to there hide. Especially when berried. I think one that died early on by molt issues was eaten but other than that ive watched them molt and leave each other alone.

Never seen aggression other than when I transferred them to new tank but that was only while in bucket being drip acclimated for 45 min or so. I had hidesmin there to but only so much space. And my wife refereed during the process. There are probably 25 differnt hides atm. Rocks and pvc. I'm really discouraged right now. I

I bought these from Trins Fish and we asurred that they were self cloning. And all I got were females. And I got 7 and one baby that was hiding in the green hair algae it was female as well. So I highly doubt that this was a scandel.

I could try to add more crushed coral but limited to places since I haven't gotten my canisters yet which may be a while. But I still have decent filtration 200 gph hob a sponge filter and a diy air powered filter full of lava rock and crushd coral.

As far as I know DNA is the only way to tell between females. As to the aggression toward each other, crayfish are nocturnal, so most of their squabbling would be at night in the dark. In the pics pics you posted they are missing parts of their walking legs, which hints at fighting.

The missing is from the disease or something. I think its shell rot. I was teating it with a salt bath as that is what remedey I found from research. 10 grams per liter dissolved, in a heavily aerated container.

Didnt notice It until I set up the new tank. I got a treatment on day one and she molted. I did it again next day after molt and that may have been a mistake. I'm assuming the shell rot came from detritus in substrate that I was unable to completely get. There was some sort of growth on the crawfish as well. A fleshy type growth coming out of shell. At the base of right claw.

The tank is here.

I don't see any signs of shell rot, and it only occurs on the carapace.

Okaythen what's with the brown spots and the growth?

I'm not trying to say you are wrong I just don't see any spots and that it wouldn't effect the walking legs. Can you show me the brown spots? And I'm not sure what the growth is, but I think it might be due to a bad molt, which can come from low gh/kh. One thing you could do though is try cuttlebone, most people get it from the bird section at the pet store. It add calcium to their diet which they need for their exoskeleton.

Sorry didnt mean to sound like a jerk, I'm very frustrated with this project and don't want to accept defeat but I'm close to feeding my last crawfish to my puffer and tearing the tank down.

The cuttle bone Is great for some reason not sure why I don't have any in there, I do in most of my other tanks. Duh... well maybe my eyes are just looking for a problem. ButI watch these guys through the night and don't t see them fight. I'm Sure they may but not to the extent ive seen other species. Ill see what I can do for adding crushed coral maybe ill just set up a media bag inside tank until I can get the can filter.

Thank you CowBoYReX
And TexasDomer
Anyother thoughts please feel free I'm at a loss here.

Don't worry, you were fine. I didn't want you to feel like I was saying you are wrong and didn't know what you were talking about. I mean, you have the critters I have pictures, so... Lol
And you're welcome keep us posted on how they are doing.
