Hey Fishlore community?
I have java fern I need to split in two. Where do I cut it and what is the best way to do it?
My first time cutting java fern and don't want it to die

And I have one dead leaf I need to remove. Do I cut it by the rhizome or start of stem. Please help and thanks in advance. First time removing dead leaf

As long as the rhizome is still alive, you can pull the dead leaf off.

You can cut a rhizome anywhere to break up a dense mat of ferns. You just got to make sure they have at least 2 to 3 leaves on each peice. I have done this several times and I always just pluck off brown dead stuff. No issues. Pretty hard to kill a Java. I'm super rough on mine.

No they were all on one rhizome. The plants growing of the parent plant are all healthy and I easily remove it without making a hole in the leaf than I tie it to my drift wood
