Didn't Believe I'd Need A Quarantine Tank!

So I have never really thought I need a holding tank for sick fish. Well 2 nights ago I came home to find 2 of my fish acting weird. One of my molly and platys in my 30 gallon where super skinny and weak barely swimming. So off to Walmart I went to get a spare tank. I found a 10 gallon for 15 bucks and grabbed it and used spare filter and heater to throw in for the sick fish. So after getting it setup I put the fish in and started to feed them more to see if they get energy back and start to not look so skinny (Yes I used an established filter in the 10g) well after a couple days of more food the molly is making a come back but the platy didnt. So right now all molly are in the 10 gallon for the week. Only 3 of them and a 5 of the platys are in the 30 gallon

Hospital tanks are always good to have.

If you’ve got thin live bearers I suggest worming them. They seem to be pretty susceptible to internal parasites. Sometimes just extra food does the trick but using some prazipro won’t cause any harm.

I would suggest getting that tank off that stool and get it on a solid base that at least supports the corners! Its prone to warping and then shattering the glass if you keep it like that long term!

So update came home tonight after a day trip to find the molly swimming on its side. Still eating but swimming funky. Other mollys are doing great

Also it almost looks like her spine is tweaked and don't worry about the food on the bottom I'm cleaning it tomorrow
