10 Gallon Tank Did someone say Betta glow up?

Wanted to share my latest Betta glow up with y'all. Warning - the story starts a bit sad.

This is The Infishitive, Adam for short, the day I got him in late July:


He was sold as a silver veil tail. I saw him on his own, the only fish left in the cups. I honestly thought he was going to die but I didn't want to leave him to gasp his last in the bottom of a pint cup in the dark. I bought (I know) him and took him home to pop him into a nice 10 gallon that I had spare, planted it up and set up the filter with a pre-used sponge. He surprised me by perking up right away.

A week or so in he started to show some colour:



A month or so in the colour was really coming in and I was told he was probably a rose tail. He was getting bluer by the day:



Then the red started to come in around month 2:



And today we have:

And a picture of Glorfishicus, Ben for short, who would be very sad to be left out. He is menacing his new mushroom here:

He’s lovely, it’s amazing to watch them transform

Glorifishicus looks like he's about to smite that mushroom. LOVE the name btw just don't get a Tara fish for him.

He did. For about 10 minutes then moved on to his other method of interacting with his environment, total indifference. He is a grumpy and exceedingly aggressive git who can't even be housed with a snail cos he will go for it, but I love him very much.

 

That was an awesome transformation! So beautiful!!!!

 

Can we share our own glow-ups on this thread btw? Mick used to look a lot like Adam for short but stayed blue marble. I lowkey want to rename him Xander.
