Did My Other Fish Eat My Neon Tetra?

So I have 2 mollies,2 platies,3 guppies and had 2 neon tetras! I woke up today and I noticed only one neon tetra and quickly starting looking for the other I check the whole tank and even the filter. No trace! Last night before I turned the light off I saw both neons doing fine not a sign of sickness. Could have it passed and the other fish ate it?

What size tank? what are your water parameters and how long has it been running? A tiny neon could be an overnight snack quite quickly unfortunately. Also neons are fragile and may want to consider a hardier species depending on the size of your tank .

Neon tetra are schooling fish and need to be kept in a group of at least 5 or 6. Keeping only 2 will lead to stress and sick fish become easy nipping targets for other fish.

Maybe it jumped out of the tank? Have you checked around the floor or wall it is next to?

Its possible that it died and they did eat him
You should definitely keep in bigger schools 6+.

I'm going to say it probably died and the others ate it.

20 gallon, parameters are spot on. The neon tetras were always around the other fish and I did not see them be aggressive towards one another

I have a lid on the tank not possible

I always feed them in the morning but notice before I fed them they had poop dangling, maybe so?

Yes I know I did want a bigger school but that's all they had at my lfs

I guess my only neon tetra left has no chance, sad neons are interesting little guys

Mollies can get pretty big compared to neons. A full grown molly could have eaten one while it was still alive. I saw my glotetra (the tetras, not the danios) eat a full grown red cherry shrimp which is about the size of a neon. I have no doubt a molly could have eaten a neon.
